Booking Pace

The rate at which reservations accumulate for a future date over time. Booking pace is typically visualized as a curve showing cumulative bookings on the Y-axis and days-before-arrival on the X-axis, compared against the same curve from a prior period.

Why it matters: Booking pace is distinct from pace in that it focuses on the speed of accumulation rather than a point-in-time comparison. A sudden acceleration in booking pace indicates a demand event; a deceleration signals potential weakness requiring action.
