Transient Business
Individual guest reservations not part of a group block. Transient bookings include leisure travelers, individual business travelers, and guests booking through any channel on their own behalf. Transient demand typically books closer to the stay date than groups.
Why it matters: Transient business is usually the highest-rated segment and the most responsive to dynamic pricing. Revenue managers protect a portion of inventory for transient demand even when group requests are pending, because transient guests often pay BAR or higher.
